Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU)
The G5PMU is a fully featured Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) equipped with PQZIP technology. Its ability to measure synchrophasors at high resolution make it valuable to the dynamic monitoring systems in the energy supply system.
PQZIP inside
The G5PMU continuous waveform recording enables the analysis of 511 harmonics, subharmonics and fast transients
P & M Class simultaneously
The G5PMU can transmit both P and M classes simultaneously at two different transmission rates to two different destinations.
Superior Transmission Rate
With transmission rate of up-to 200/240 frame per second (50/60Hz), the G5PMU exceed C37.118 Synchrophasor requirements for both M and P classes.
Synched Monitoring
Time accuracy higher than 1 μs can be achieved with GPS and PTP time source with an automatic hierarchy for the preferred source availability (accuracy based hierarchy).
IEEE C37.118-2011 | IEC/IEEE 60255-118-1-2018
Complies with the most updated standard for synchrophasor measurements of power systems IEEE C37.118-2011, including the amendment IEEE C37.118.1a-2014. IEC/IEEE 60255-118-1-2018 Certified.
Two independent synchrophasor data streams enable to report a synchrophasor data with two different report-rates and/or different performance classes (P/M) and/or data type simultaneously.
Ultra-fast report rate for both P & M classes:
Performance Class | Max report rate for 50Hz | Max report rate for 60Hz |
---|---|---|
P | 200/sec | 240/sec |
M | 100/sec | 120/sec |
Support for simultaneous synchrophasor data stream over TCP/IP and UDP/IP. It can be configured for unicast or multicast, enabling a better design of WAMS communication and suitable for WAMS with several utilities or applications involved.
Phasor Measurement Unit Of Non Fundamental Frequencies
The PQZIP compression algorithm extends the synchrophasor data to non fundamental frequencies. The algorithm evaluate the real and image component of every harmonics up-to the 511th and store changes higher than TVE of 0.1%. This technique compress the data at 1000:1 compression ratio therefore, enable the recording of a continuous waveform signal at high sampling rate. A typical storage requirement for a complete waveform signal of 4 voltage and 4 current is 1GB/month.
Supreme Trends Resolution
The G5PMU measures and records 5,000 power parameters continuously at a resolution of ½ cycles, 10/12 cycles, 150/180 cycles, 10 min and 2 hours. These parameters can be added to the PMU transmission package for post reporting purposes.
Continuous Waveform Recordings
The G5PMU is a multi-functional recorder able to record and store all electrical waveform continuously at 1,024 samples/cycle, for more than a year, with no gaps in the data. The continuous waveform recording extends the synchrophasor data to none fundamental by evaluating the real and image component of every harmonics up-to the 511th.
